This last two weeks before break have culminated in a slightly more rigorous group project. After learning the basics of TouchDesigner we used our new skills to craft an object with proportional defining projection mapping. Max Wang, Leonardo Li, Finn Siegel, and myself all worked together to bring our vision to fruition. Me and Max collaborated in creating a miniature room using laser cut wood and dressed in white paint. Once the assembly was complete, we each designed an interior aesthetic that would be projected into the room. We connected TouchDesigner through Ableton so that the projected settings in the room were contingent upon the triggering of specific Ableton music tracks. With the culmination of the work, we presented a story in which our character, Jamal, was transported through time and space on a fantastical sci-fi journey.
